Sochi overtook Lokomotiv in the table with a reassuring home win thanks to first-half goals from Anton Zabalotny and Nikita Burmistrov. Anton Miranchuk came off the bench half way through the second period and pulled a goal back within seconds, but Sochi hang on for a crucial three points.

Sochi replace Lokomotiv in fifth place on 22 points, while Lokomotiv slip down to sixth on 21 points.
