The Railwaymen ended their last home game in the group stage with a defeat from Austrian Bundesliga runners-up. The first half was the Mergim Berisha performance, who made a double in 13 minutes. Lokomotiv came back with 11 minutes left in the second half, when Anton Miranchuk capitalized the penalty, but the visitors rapidly brought two-goal lead back after Karim Adeyemi robbed Murilo and scored on a breakaway.
In the second half 19-year-old midfielder Maksim Mukhin made his Champions League debut for Lokomotiv and finished the match with a yellow card.
Before the final matchday Lokomotiv are bottom of the group A on three points, while Salzburg are on the third position with four points.
