Zenit end Champions League campaign with home defeat after Witsel's winner

Two Dortmund goals in 10 minutes left Zenit without any wins in the Champions League group stage. The RPL champions took the lead with Sebastian Driussi’s first ever goal in the tournament, and later in the first half Sardar Azmoun scored the second, but he was caught with the offside.

Things changed for Dortmund in the second half. Lukasz Pizczek, who played against Zenit in both 2013/14 last 16 fixtures, tied after the corner, and 10 minutes later former Zenit midfielder Axel Witsel scored the game-winner for the visitors.

The second group fixture Lazio vs Brugge ended with 2-2 draw.

Zenit finish their campaign bottom of Group F on one point, while Dortmund go through to the knockout stages as group winners on 13 points.
