On 8 February, three teams played friendlies at their training camp before resuming the 2020/21 season.
Rubin Kazan 2-3 Tom Tomsk
Rubin used players who had previously either only come on as substitutes or not played at all in previous friendly matches this winter. Ivan Ignatiev and Kirill Klimov scored for Rubin, while Artem Simonyan scored twice for Tom and Tengiz Tsikaridze bagged the other. On 9 February, Leonid Slutsky’s team will play in Turkey against another FNL representative, Nizhny Novgorod. On 11 February Tom will meet Akhmat.
FC Sochi 0-1 Lokomotiv Moscow U-19
In the first game of the day, Sochi lost to the youth team of Lokomotiv. The victory was secured by the team’s top scorer in the Youth Championship, Timur Kasimov.
FC Sochi 3-0 Dinamo Tbilisi
In the second game, the Southerners beat the defending champions of Georgia thanks to goals from Christian Noboa, Joaozinho and Sergey Terekhov. Vladimir Fedotov’s men thus picked up their first training camp victory after four consecutive defeats. On 11 February, Sochi will face Akhmat in Turkey.
FC Rostov 4-1 Lokomotiv Tbilisi
In the first half, Pontus Almqvist scored for the Yellow-Blues, while after the break Mathias Normann converted a penalty and Dmitry Poloz scored twice in three minutes. The next friendly match for Valery Karpin’s men in Marbella is scheduled for 11 February, with the opponent to be determined later.
