Like in the first meeting Khimki beat Rostov thanks to Reziuan Mirzov’s goal. At Rostov Arena the midfielder scored the winner in added time, whereas this time he earned a penalty at the beginning of the second half and scored from the spot himself.
Rostov equalised after Ali Sowe’s shot from a rebound in the box, but it was cancelled by VAR due to offside. In the final minute of the second half Aleksandr Troshechkin was sent off after his second yellow card.
Khimki go ninth on 32 points after extending their unbeaten run to nine games, while Rostov stay seventh on 34 points.
