Rubin put serious pressure on the European places with an emphatic win over Ufa thanks to goals from Denis Makarov - scorer of the sensational winner last week against Zenit - Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ilya Samoshnikov.

Makarov and Kvaratskhelia put Rubin firmly in charge in the last 15 minutes of the first half, before Samoshnikov’s delightful chip with quarter of an hour remaining.

Ufa stay 15th on 14 points, while Rubin go fifth on 37 points.
