Lokomotiv Moscow 3-1 FC Sochi
Sunday 14 March, RZD Arena
Goals: Lokomotiv - Kamano (42, 56), Smolov (88); Sochi - Yusupov (58)
Man of the Match: Rifat Zhemaletdinov (Lokomotiv)
Francois Kamano scored his first two RPL goals in his 17th league appearance to hand Marko Nikolic’s side a valuable three points and draw level with beaten visitors Sochi. Artur Yusupov slammed home a close-range strike to half the advantage, but for the second match in a row, Fedor Smolov came off the bench to score a superb long-range effort to put the game beyond doubt.
Both of Kamano’s goals were assisted by Rifat Zhemaletdinov; the first sent the Guinean winger racing clear to delicately dink the ball over Soslan Dzhanaev, before a solo effort through Ivan Novoseltsev’s legs left Dzhanaev stranded. The midfielder also made an assist to Smolov.
Lokomotiv go fifth, level on 37 points with Sochi, who stay fourth.
