Russia squad announced for European Under-21 Championship

The Russian under-21 coaching staff have announced their squad to participate in the European Championships.

The group stage will be held from 23 to 31 March in the Hungarian cities of Gyor and Szombathely. In the group stage, Mikhail Galaktionov's men will meet Iceland, France and Denmark. The matches will be played on 25, 28 and 31 March.

Goalkeepers: Aleksandr Maksimenko (Spartak), Denis Adamov (Sochi), Ivan Lomaev (Krylia Sovetov)

Defenders: Igor Diveev, Nair Tiknizyan (both CSKA), Roman Evgenyev (Dynamo) Nikita Kalugin (Neftekhimik), Pavel Maslov (Spartak), Artem Golubev (Ufa), Danil Krugovoy (Zenit)

Midfielders: Daniil Lesovoy, Arsen Zakharyan (both Dynamo) Daniil Utkin, Magomed Shapi-Suleymanov (both Krasnodar), Ivan Oblakov, Konstantin Kuchaev (both CSKA), Aleksandr Lomovitsky (Arsenal), Nail Umyarov (Spartak), Danil Glebov (Rostov) Daniil Kulikov (Lokomotiv)

Forwards: Vyacheslav Grulev (Dynamo), Fedor Chalov (CSKA), Denis Makarov (Rubin). 

On 18 March, the Russian under-21s will begin training in Novogorsk, where training sessions will be held until 20 March. On the morning of 21 March, Mikhail Galaktionov's players will fly to Hungary, where they will continue to prepare for the first match of the European tournament against Iceland (25 March). The players will come to the training camp immediately after the end of their RPL matchday 23 fixtures. 

Due to injuries, Matvey Safonov (Krasnodar), Maksim Glushenkov (Khimki) and Aleksey Tataev (Mlada Boleslav) will not be able to participate in the group stage of the 2021 European Championship finals.
