Tambov's resistance almost held out till half time, before Anton Zabolotny broke the deadlock and opened the floodgates. The former Zenit St. Petersburg forward added a second with 10 minutes remaining, sandwiching further strikes by Sergey Terekhov and Aleksandr Rodenko.

Maksim Barsov added the icing on the cake with a last-minute goal to make it 5-0 - his first strike in almost two years after returning from a serious cruciate ligament injury. 

Sochi stay go fourth on 40 points, while Tambov remain bottom on 13 points.
