print version

Russia U-21 0-2 France U-21
UEFA European Under-21 Championships, Group C
Sunday 28 March, Haladas Stadium (Hungary)

Goals: France - Edouard (pen, 15), Ikone (pen, 24)

France struck twice inside the first 24 minutes to bounce back from their opening matchday defeat, and edge past Russia in the Group C standings. Both French goals came from the penalty spot, and both times after Pavel Maslov had been penalised for handball.

Russia take on group leaders Denmark, who beat France on the opening matchday, knowing victory will see them through to the knockout stages later this year.

Matchday three fixtures: Wednesday 31 March - Iceland vs France; Denmark vs Russia
