Khimki unbeaten run comes to an end thanks to Karavaev and Mostovoy

Vyacheslav Karavaev’s scrappy close-range finish set Zenit on the way to restoring their four-point advantage at the top of the table. Second-half substitute Andrey Mostovoy delicately threaded a cool finish into the bottom corner deep into added time to seal the win.

The result also brought the longest unbeaten run in the season to an end, as Khimki lost for the first time since November 1, when they were beaten by Zenit at home.

Zenit extend their lead at the top of the table on 51 points, while Khimki stay ninth on 35 points.
