Key Points from Matchday 25: Pogrebnyak’s productive campaign, Guilherme’s personal record, Stotsky’s long wait

We have rounded up the most intriguing statistics and numbers from Matchday 25 of the Russian Premier Liga.

One - There was no honeymoon period for Viktor Goncharenko as he began his spell in charge of Krasnodar with a 1-0 defeat, courtesy of Goran Causic. The Serbian hit a smart volley from outside the penalty area with what was his first shot on target all season; overall he has taken  11 shots overall in 17 games.

Three - Aleksey Stukalov enjoyed almost the perfect home debut as Ufa boss at the weekend, as his new charges ran out 3-0 winners to temporarily lift them out of the automatic relegation zone. Not only was it their first win in eight RPL matches, but it was also their first home clean sheet since November. In fact, they managed to score more goals in one match than they did in total in the previous eight put together.

Four - Pavel Pogrebnyak rolled back the years with two thumping headers at the VTB Arena and earn his Ural side a share of the points against Dynamo. In one fell swoop, he doubled his goals tally for the season, and in doing so made this his most productive league campaign in Russian football in over a decade. After he scored five goals for Zenit in the 2009 season, he left for Stuttgart before moving on to English football with Fulham and then Reading, and has scored three league goals in each of the previous three seasons before this campaign.

Seven - Khimki’s 1-0 win against Tambov extended one of the most impressive records still standing in the RPL; they have now won seven home league games in a row, more than any other side in the top flight. It took them 36 home matches to collect the previous seven home wins.

10 - Guilherme was in inspired form as his Lokomotiv side came out on top in a pulsating Moscow derby at home to Spartak. The Russian international kept his 12th clean sheet of the season - the most of all RPL keepers this campaign - thanks to his season-high 10 saves. This total is the most ever for him in a game, and the joint-most for any keeper this season alongside his opposite number this weekend, Aleksandr Maksimenko.

18 - At long last Sochi’s seemingly impregnable unbeaten home run came to an end; rather appropriately, it came at the hands of the reigning champions, current league leaders, and more specifically due to a double from last season’s top goalscorer - and top scorer this campaign so far - Sardar Azmoun. They had gone a remarkable 18 games at the Fisht Olympic Stadium without defeat, last losing at the beginning of March last year.

491 - Dmitry Stotsky had had to wait some time to rejoin the action in an RPL match before this weekend; 491 days to be precise since he was last named in a starting lineup. He started the match away to Arsenal Tula, and was part of a defence that didn’t concede while he was still on the pitch. Unfortunately, once he left the game, his teammates conceded and lost 1-0.

500 - When Darko Jevtic struck a rapid opportunistic goal to snatch all three points away to Rostov this weekend, he didn’t only achieve one notable mark of helping his side into the top four league places. His goal was also the 500th in this RPL season.
