FNL side Krylia stun Akhmat on penalties to make Russian Cup Final

For the second year in a row lower-league side made the Russian Cup Final after Krylia Sovetov knocked out Akhmat Grozny on penalties following a goalless 90 minutes.

Gabriel Iancu - who had only been brought on deep into added time specifically for spot kicks - missed Akhmat’s second penalty, before Bernard Berisha’s failed panenka was easily held by Evgeny Frolov. Dmitry Kombarov stepped up to slot home the decisive spot-kick.

The Russian Cup Final will take place on 12 May at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium.
