Shchetkin's first RPL goal lifts Rotor out of bottom two

Aleksey Shchetkin scored his first goal for Rotor Volgograd to temporarily lift the hosts out of the bottom two. Some simple movement left him in space to slot home a smart cutback from Sergey Makarov. 

It was also Rotor's first goal in eight league games, and crucially lifts them out of the automatic relegation zone. 

Rotor escape the automatic relegation places on 21 points, while Akhmat remain 11th on 36 points.
