Krylia promoted back to RPL

Krylia Sovetov Samara have been promoted back to the Russian Premier Liga ahead of schedule. 

Krylia secured their place in the top flight next season with a 2-1 victory over Akron Togliatti on matchday 40 of the FNL. Top scorer Ivan Sergeev scored both, the winner in added time, to move onto 37 league goals in 36 appearances for Krylia. 

They lead the table with 92 points, four points ahead of Orenburg and 11 points ahead of Nizhny Novgorod. There are two rounds left in the championship, with Krylia also set to play their postponed matchday 35 match against Spartak-II.

Krylia played in the RPL from 2002 to 2014, from 2015 to 2017 and from 2018 to 2020. Their best finish was third place in 2004.
