Sochi made history in uneventful fashion by qualifying for Europe just three years after forming thanks to a goalless draw away to Khimki. In the end it didn’t matter what they did as CSKA, the only side that could have overhauled them into the top five, lost the Derby away to Dynamo.

Khimki claim their best ever finish by ending eighth on 45 points, while Sochi head to the inaugural Europa Conference League after finishing in fifth on 53 points.
