RPL approves holding Russian Super Cup in Kaliningrad

The venue will be formally approved after all the details are agreed with the stadium.

In total, the clubs considered four options as candidates; the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, the Kaliningrad Stadium, the Volgograd Arena and the Mordovia Arena in Saransk.

The participants of the meeting also approved the Russian Super Cup regulations. According to the document, in the event of a draw after regular time, the teams will not play extra time and will immediately hold a penalty shootout.

The 2021 Super Cup will take place on Saturday 17 July. It will be played between the RPL champions Zenit and the Russian Cup winners Lokomotiv.
