Dejan Lovren was penalised in the first half after a VAR review, leaving Patrick Schick to step up and blast home an unstoppable penalty to give the Czech Republic the lead.

Ivan Perisic hit back after the break with a sensational solo goal. The winger weaved inside defenders to curl a sumptuous finish for a share of the points.

Aleks Kral and Nikola Vlasic started on the bench for the Czech Republic and Croatia respectively, before both came on just after the hour mark. Croatian defender Dejan Lovren played the whole 90 minutes, and was booked.

Croatia stay third on one point, while the Czech Republic stay top on four points.
