RPL teams’ summer training camps: Rostov defeat Slovenian champions, Arsenal and Krasnodar suffer defeats

On 1 July, three RPL teams played friendly matches in preparation for the 2021/22 season.

Arsenal 1-3 Cukaricki

In Austria, Arsenal lost to Serbia’s third-placed team in the 2020/21 championship, despite scoring first through Daniil Khlusevich in the 41st minute. Before the break, the Serbs equalised, and scored the remaining two goals in the last 10 minutes. In total, Dmitry Parfenov's team will play four friendly matches at their Austrian training camp; their next opponents are Sparta Prague, whom Arsenal will meet on 6 July.

Krasnodar 1-2 Sepsi

Krasnodar finished their first Austrian training camp with a defeat against Romanian Conference League qualifiers Sepsi. The Black-Greens took the lead after Magomed-Shapi Suleymanov's goal in the 17th minute, but the Romanians fought back in the first half, and snatched victory in the second. Viktor Goncharenko's team will hold their second training camp in Austria from 5-19 July.

Rostov 4-0 Mura

Rostov defeated the current champion of Slovenia thanks to a double by Nikolay Komlichenko, and further goals by Ali Sowe and Daniil Glebov. With a victory over the Slovenian side, Valery Karpin's team completed their first training camp in Austria - the second one starts on 5 July.
