Barrios’ Colombia lose to Argentina on penalties in 2021 Copa America semi-final

Argentina edged out Colombia in the 2021 Copa America semi-final on penalties, having finished level after extra-time at 1-1.

Lautaro Martinez broke the deadlock early on in the 7th minute, before Luis Dias equalised just after the hour mark. Argentina came out on top in the penalty shootout, winning the series 3-2.

Zenit midfielder Wilmar Barrios played the entire 90 minutes, and earned a yellow card two minutes from time. He didn’t take part in the penalty shootout.

Argentina will meet Brazil in the Copa America Final on the night of 11 July 11 Moscow time in Rio de Janeiro. Colombia will play in the third-place match against Peru in Brasilia on the night of 10 July.
