Sochi wrap up maiden European tie in high scoring encounter

Sochi managed to secure passage into the third round of the new UEFA Europa Conference League thanks to a strong first leg performance at home. Vladimir Fedotov’s men were held today in Azerbaijan by a strong-willed opposition, but goals from Marko Dugandzic and Nikita Burmistrov were enough to be the better team over two legs. 

Sochi will now face Akhmat Grozny on Monday 2 August, before taking on Partizan Belgrade in the next round of the Conference League next week.
