Szymanski late header rescues Dynamo win after 10-man Ufa’s fightback

Sebastian Szymanski’s 89th-minute header saved Dynamo Moscow’s blushes after 10-man Ufa fought back from 2-0 down thanks to a Gamid Agalarov double. A brace of first-half penalties from Dynamo midfielder Daniil Fomin had set Sandro Schwarz's men well on course on Saturday evening before the late flurry of drama.

Coming off the back of a successful opening day, Dynamo's young side kept up the pressure which the Ufa defence couldn't cope with. Two defensive slip ups resulted in penalties that even the formidable Aleksandr Belenov couldn't keep out.

With quarter of an hour to go, Ruslan Fishchenko was sent off for a second bookable offence with the visitors seemingly comfortable. However, Ufa hit back late on as Agalarov twice capitalised on defensive lapses, before Szymanski’s pin-point header shattered dreams of an unlikely point.
