Rubin knocked out of Conference League

After four goalless halves of football, Rubin and Rakow were separated by an extra time header from Vladislavs Gutkovskis. The Polish side fought valiantly until the very end, and took full advantage of an injury stricken Rubin side. Star left back Ilya Samoshnikov was also sent off in extra time, which made things even harder for Leonid Slutsky’s men. 

At the very last minute of the match, Sead Haksabanovic had a golden chance to equalise through the penalty spot, but failed to do so. This loss will be inevitably hard to stomach for Rubin, who have reached the end of their first European campaign in over five years. They will now continue their season with a game against Krylia Sovetov on Sunday.
