The draw for the elite group round of the Russian Cup took place in Moscow today, involving 11 teams each from the RPL, FNL and FNL-2.
Group 1: Krasnodar, Kuban, Leningradets.
Group 2: Ural, KAMAZ, Torpedo Vladimir.
Group 3: Arsenal, Veles, Dynamo Bryansk.
Group 4: Nizhny Novgorod, Fakel, Dynamo Barnaul.
Group 5: Rostov, Torpedo Moscow, Chaika.
Group 6: Ufa, Alania, Dynamo Legion.
Group 7: Akhmat, Rotor, Kairat.
Group 8: Khimki, Baltika, Saransk.
Group 9: Krylia Sovetov, Enisey, Znamya Noginsk.
Group 10: CSKA, Metallurg, Zenit Izhevsk.
Group 11: Dynamo, Orenburg, Dynamo Stavropol.
In the elite group round, the teams are divided into 11 groups. Each group contains one team from the RPL, the second-tier FNL and third-tier FNL-2. The group stage will have three matchdays.
Dates of the elite group round fixtures:
• 25-26 August FNL-2 teams vs FNL-1 teams
* 22-23 September 22-23 FNL-2 teams vs RPL teams;
* 27-28 October FNL-1 teams vs RPL teams
11 group winners will advance to the last 16, where they will join five RPL teams (Zenit, Spartak, Lokomotiv, Rubin, Sochi), who all qualified for European competitions at the end of the 2020/21 season.
Lokomotiv are the reigning Russian Cup champions.
