On 27 August 1911, the Society of Ski Lovers' football team played their first match, then later became known as CSKA.
In Soviet times, the Armymen became national champions seven times, including winning the last USSR championship in 1991. In the Russian era, CSKA are six-time Russian Premier Liga champions, seven-time Russian Cup winners and record holders for number of Russian Super Cup victories with seven.
In 2005, CSKA became the first Russian representatives to win a European club trophy when they lifted the UEFA Cup.
The Russian Premier Liga congratulates everyone involved in the club on their anniversary: managers, employees, football players, coaches and fans. We wish you prosperity, success and plenty more victories on the pitch!
