Rubin Kazan 4-0 Ural Ekaterinburg
Monday 13 September, Centralny Stadium
Goals: Rubin - Dreyer 2', 81', 90+1', Mamin (OG) 13'
Man of the Match: Anders Dreyer (Rubin)
Anders Dreyer had a sensational debut for Rubin, opening his account with a cheeky back heel flick within seconds and drilling a fine second near the end.
A full-strength Rubin flew out of the blocks against a shell-shocked Ural, as big signing Dreyer struck after a few seconds from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's assist. Within 13 minutes it was 2-0 when Artem Mamin turned Oliver Abildgaard's powerful low cross into his own net, and it could have been three but for the post denying Ilya Samoshnikov's close-range effort.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Djordje Despotovic returned to a strong Rubin starting lineup to take on rock-bottom Ural, who fielded an inexperienced side. Artem Mamin and Ivan Kuzmichev made their second and first league starts for the visitors respectively.
Ural had little more than a smattering of half chances to speak of, before Dreyer finished matters off in the last 10 minutes. First, he steered a low finish to make it 3-0, before rounding off a delightful team move to complete a wonderful debut.
Rubin stay go fourth on 14 points, while Ural remain bottom on two points.
