Extended Russia squad announced for Slovakia and Slovenia 2022 World Cup qualifiers

The Russian national team coaching staff have included 34 players on the expanded list of players called up for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Goalkeepers: Guilherme (Lokomotiv), Yuri Dupin (Rubin), Andrey Lunev (Bayer, Germany), Matvey Safonov (Krasnodar), Stanislav Kritsyuk (Zenit)

Defenders: Igor Diveev (CSKA), Stanislav Magkeev (Lokomotiv), Georgi Dzhikia (Spartak), Maksim Osipenko (Rostov), Vyacheslav Karavaev, Aleksey Sutormin, Dmitry Chistyakov (all Zenit), Ilya Samoshnikov (Rubin), Sergey Terekhov (Sochi), Fedor Kudryashov (Antalyaspor, Turkey)

Midfielders: Dmitry Barinov, Rifat Zhemaletdinov (both Lokomotiv), Maksim Mukhin (CSKA), Aleksandr Golovin (Monaco), Aleksandr Erokhin, Daler Kuzyaev (both Zenit), Zelimkhan Bakayev (Spartak), Aleksey Miranchuk (Atalanta, Italy), Arsen Zakharyan, Daniil Fomin, Denis Makarov (all Dynamo), Aleksey Ionov (Krasnodar), Denis Glushakov (Khimki), Anton Zinkovsky (Krylia Sovetov)

In October, Valery Karpin’s side will play two matches. On 8 October, they will host Slovakia in Kazan, and on 11 October they will be hosted by Slovenia in Maribor. Both matches will start at 21:45 Moscow time (20:45 CET).

After six matches, Russia are in second place in Group H with 13 points.
