Zaurbek Tedeev had a baptism of fire in his debut in the Rostov hotseat as Vitaly Lystsov and Igor Konovalov sank their southern neighbours. 

Lystsov let fly with a rocket from distance 10 minutes before the break that Sergey Pesyakov could only get a hand to; the ball looped agonisingly over the Rostov keeper and trickled into the net. 

Akhmat were dominating possession and shots, and the pressure told as they were awarded a penalty soon into the second period, which Igor Konovalov converted. 

Dmitry Poloz headed a consolation in added time, but it was too late to affect the outcome. 

Rostov remain in the automatic relegation zone on six points, while Akhmat go ninth on 12 points.
