RPL players on international duty: Yuldoshev scores first goal for Uzbekistan, Claesson earns a penalty

On 9 October, Russian Premier Liga players took part in qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and U-19 Euro 2022.

2022 World Cup qualifiers

Europe

Group A 

Luxembourg 0-1 Serbia

Krasnodar defender Uros Spajic came on for Serbia immediately after the break with the score stuck at 0-0, and in the second half the visitors scored the only goal of the game to win. After six matches, Serbia lead the group with 14 points and are one point ahead of Portugal, who have one game in hand. Serbia will play Azerbaijan in their next match on 12 October. 

Group B

Georgia 0-2 Greece

Rubin midfielder Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Arsenal winger Zuriko Davitashvili played against Greece. Kvaratskhelia played the whole match, whereas Davitashvili came on as a substitute in second half added time. Georgia prop up the Group B table on one point, and will play Kosovo on 12 October. 

Sweden 3-0 Kosovo

Krasnodar forward Viktor Claesson was named in Sweden's starting line-up and spent the entire match on the pitch. In the 29th minute, Claesson earned a penalty - his shot hit an opponent's hand - from which Emil Forsberg scored the opening goal. Sweden move onto 12 points and are second in the group, one behind Spain, and with a game in hand. In the next meeting, they will play Greece on 12 October. 

Group D

Kazakhstan 0-2 Bosnia and Herzegovina

Akhmat defender Marat Bystrov, who spent 83 minutes on the field and before being replaced, and CSKA midfielder Baktiyor Zaynutdinov, who played all 90 minutes, were named in the Kazakhstan starting lineup. Rostov's Bosnian defender Dennis Hadzikadunic was not involved due to having picked up a yellow-card suspension. With six points after five matches, Bosnia and Herzegovina are third in the group, while Kazakhstan are bottom with three points in six games. On 13 October, Kazakhstan will play Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina take on Ukraine.

Group I

Hungary 0-1 Albania

Nizhny Novgorod's Hungarian defender Akos Keckes spent the entire match on the bench, and his club teammate Bekim Balaj was not included in Albania's matchday squad. After seven matches, Albania are in second place with 15 points, with Hungary five points behind and in fourth. On 12 October, Hungary will play England, and Albania will face Poland.

Poland 5-0 San Marino

Krasnodar midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak was not included in the squad that faced San Marino. Poland have 14 points and are in third place in the group. In their next qualifier, Poland will play Albania on 12 October.

Africa, 2nd round

Group I

Guinea 2-2 Sudan

Lokomotiv's Guinean striker Francois Kamano came on as a substitute in the 75th minute with his side 2-1 up, but Guinea failed to hold the advantage and conceded in the 88th minute. After three matches, Guinea are in third place in the group with three points, but Morocco and Guinea-Bissau have both played one match more. In their next fixture, Guinea will play Morocco on 12 October.

Group 10

Georgia U-19 1-0 Kosovo U-19

Ural midfielder Luka Gagnidze played the entire match against Kosovo for Georgia. His side have four points after two rounds and are in second place in the group. On 12 October, they will meet their peers from Norway.

Friendly match 

Uzbekistan 5-1 Malaysia

Nizhny Novgorod defender Ibrokhimkhalil Yuldoshev came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute, with Uzbekistan leading 3-1. Six minutes after coming on, Yuldoshev scored his first goal for the national team. Uzbekistan will play Jordan in a friendly on 12 October.
