Man of the Match: In-beom Hwang (Rubin)
Markus Gisdol kicked off his RPL career with a dramatic point as his new side came back to draw after falling two goals down deep into the second half.
Anders Dreyer handed the hosts the lead towards the end of the first half with a spectacular strike. Receiving possession with his back to goal from In-beom Hwang, he turned on a sixpence and smashed in a stunning strike from the edge of the box for his fourth goal in five games.
Rubin doubled their advantage 20 minutes after the break when German Onugkha capitalised on a fumble from teenage keeper Daniil Khudyakov. Although mere yards from goal, he still had plenty of work to do to create a bit of space, turn, and finish well.
Within moments though, Fedor Smolov had pulled one back for Lokomotiv after a well worked team move was capped by his smooth low finish.
In the last minute of added time, supersub Rifat Zhemaletdinov pulled out a sensational rocket from outside the penalty area to snatch a share of the spoils right at the death.
Rubin head back up to eighth on 15 points, while Lokomotiv stay fourth on 18 points.
