Lokomotiv Moscow 1-2 Akhmat Grozny
Saturday 20 November, RZD Arena
Goals: Lokomotiv - Lisakovich 64'; Akhmat - Utkin 36', Polyarus 58'
Sent off: Lokomotiv - Murilo 35'
Man of the Match: Artem Polyarus (Akhmat)
After what had been a relatively tepid contest for half an hour, there is no question when the pivotal moment arrived. Murilo Cerqueira was shown a straight red cars on the edge of his own penalty area, leaving Daniil Utkin to step up and curl a beautiful free kick over the wall inside the post.
Akhmat made the man advantage count a little more than 10 minutes after the break through Polyarus. The former Khimki midfielder cut inside onto his left foot and curled a stunning effort into the far top corner.
At this point Lokomotiv were actually enjoying more possession despite being a man down, and they made the most of it just after the hour mark. Alexis Beka Beka sent a long ball over the top to Vitaly Lisakovich - who'd only come on the pitch seconds earlier - who raced clear and kept a cool head to finish his one-on-one calmly.
Akhmat still carved out the best chances as the game went on, with Mohamed Konate and Anton Shvets both hitting the post in the same move soon after Lisakovich's goal.
Lokomotiv remain fourth on 25 points, while Akhmat go eighth on 21 points.
