Krylia Sovetov Samara 0-1 CSKA Moscow
Saturday 4 December, Solidarnost Samara Arena
Goal: CSKA - Bohinen (75)
Man of the Match: Igor Akinfeev (CSKA)
As if to prove a point about how tight the business end of the RPL table is - Krylia and CSKA came into this game week with identical records of seven wins, three draws and six defeats - the two couldn't find a way past each other until late in their tightly fought affair.
The closest either came to a breakthrough before half time came when a curling cross from Krylia's right flank was flicked on towards Nikita Chernov to prod goal wards, only for Igor Akinfeev to sprawl at full stretch to tip it wide.
How crucial it proved. With just over a quarter of an hour to go, Chidera Ejuke ripped through a hapless defence before chipping towards the back post where Emil Bohinen was storming in to volley home his first RPL goal, just minutes after coming off the bench.
Anton Zabolotny should really have wrapped up the game five minutes later when he pounced on a terrible mistake from Chernov, but Ivan Lomaev rushed out to deflect the ball behind.
It didn't matter in the end as Akinfeev's league-leading eighth clean sheet ensured CSKA came home with all three points.
Krylia stay eighth on 24 points, while CSKA go fourth on 27 points.
