On 20 January, three RPL teams held friendly matches.
Rubin 4-4 Fakel
Rubin took on the second-placed FNL-1 side Fakel Voronezh, and led 3-2 at half time thanks to goals by German Onugkha, Egor Teslenko (KAMAZ defender on trial) and Alexander Zuev. After the break Onugkha added a second, but Leonid Slutsky's side could not hold on for the win. On 23 January, Rubin will play Wisla Plock.
Sochi 4-0 Tom
Sochi also faced FNL-1 opposition. Nikita Burmistrov, Ivelin Popov, youth team player Arkady Solop and Maksim Barsov scored their goals. From 22 January to 3 February and from 7-18 February, Sochi will hold training camps in Turkey.
Dynamo 12-0 Qatar Armed Forces Team
The Blue-Whites’ first opponents of 2022 was a representative team of the Qatar Armed Forces. Fedor Smolov, Konstantin Tyukavin, Yaroslav Gladyshev and Andrey Mazurin all scored twice, with Kirill Zhukovsky, Dmitry Skopintsev, Saba Sazonov and Daniil Fomin also getting on the scoresheet. Dynamo will train in Qatar until 21 January, then they will hold two training camps in Turkey: from 22 January to 3 February, and from 7-18 February.
