On 26 January, Ural and Lokomotiv played friendly matches in the UAE and Spain.
Ural 1-1 Pyunik
Ural drew with the 14-time champions of Armenia in the first match at their winter training camp. Pyunik took the lead in the 36th minute, but six minutes later Igor Shalimov's team hit back thanks to Rafal Augustinyak's goal from the penalty spot.
Oleg Shatov, who is training with the team after taking a career break, played part of the second half for Ural. In the 70th minute, he was replaced by Roman Emelyanov, who has not played a competitive match since 18 March 2021, and in May underwent spinal surgery. On the last day of the first training camp, 30 January, Ural will face Rodina from the FNL-2.
Lokomotiv 3-2 Sparta Prague
Four days after drawing 1-1 against Jablonec, the Railwaymen faced another team from the Czech Republic. Sparta earned a penalty early on, but David Hancko hit the post. Then Lokomotiv’s Czech newcomer Jan Kuchta scored twice, in the 13th and 29th minutes. The striker was also on the scoresheet in the previous warm-up game.
Sparta drew level in the 65th minute, but at the end of the second half, Gyrano Kerk sealed the win for Lokomotiv. They have completed the first part of the training camp in Marbella; training will resume on 1 February.
