Thursday 3 March, RZD Arena

Sent off: Lokomotiv - Tiknizyan 36’

With Lokomotiv’s spring season already disrupted by their Matchday 19 RPL fixture being postponed and head coach Markus Gisdol leaving the club this week, Enisey made their lives even harder in spectacular fashion.

Ex-Tyumen and Anzhi defender Valery Kichin unleashed a sensational overhead kick when no danger seemed on, looping a stunning finish over Danil Khudryakov’s helpless frame into the far corner.

The evening went from bad to worse before half time. First Rifat Zhemaletdinov’s goal was ruled out by VAR just after the half-hour mark, before moments later Nai Tiknizyan was sent off for a second bookable offence in the penalty area, leaving Aleksandr Lomakin to double the visitors’ advantage.

To cap a sensational upset, Andrey Okladnikov made it three inside the last quarter of an hour. To add insult to injury, Khudyakov saved an added time penalty from Mikhail Komkov, only for the Enisey man to bundle in the rebound for a scarcely-believable fourth.

The draw for the quarter-finals will take place on Friday 4 March.
