RPL players on international duty: Kings Kangwa's 2nd goal for Zambia, Talbi and Tunisia a step away from 2022 World Cup

On 25 March, four RPL players played in friendly matches, and Rubin's Montassar Talbi participated in a 2022 World Cup play-off match.

2022 World Cup qualifiers

Africa, 3rd round

Mali 0-1 Tunisia

Rubin defender Montassar Talbi played his 15th game for Tunisia. In the 2022 World Cup play-off first leg against Mali, he played the whole 90 minutes, and his team won thanks to an own goal. The teams will play the return leg on 29 March in Rades, and the aggregate winner will advance to the World Cup finals.

Friendly matches

Congo 1-3 Zambia

Arsenal midfielder Kings Kangwa scored his second goal in 12 games for Zambia. He scored the second goal against Congo in the 24th minute. Almost three years have passed since the player's debut goal for the national team on 16 June 2019 in a 3-2 friendly win over Morocco. 

Kings spent the entire match on the pitch, and while his brother Evans also started the game,  he was replaced in the 65th minute. On 27 March, Zambia will play another friendly, this time against Benin.

Luxembourg 1-3 Northern Ireland

Spartak midfielder Christopher Martins Pereira played his 50th match for Luxembourg. Against Northern Ireland, the Spartak player was named in the starting lineup and spent the entire 90 minutes on the pitch. He has been playing for the national team since 2014, when he made his debut at the age of 17. 

Luxembourg will play their next friendly match on 29 March against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Zenica.

Bosnia and Herzegovina 0-1 Georgia

Arsenal midfielder Zuriko Davitashvili played 75 minutes in his 15th match for Georgia and was shown a yellow card. The visitors' winning goal was scored by Bud Zivzivadze from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's pass, who had previously suspended his contract with Rubin. On 29 March, Georgia have a friendly with Albania in Tirana.
