Spartak Moscow 3-0 Enisey Krasnoyarsk
Russian Cup Semi-final
Wednesday 11 May, Otkrytie Bank Arena

Goals: Spartak - Promes (21), Bakaev (56), Sobolev (87)

Last time Spartak was seen in the Cup Final was May 2006, when the team lost 0-3 to CSKA. Last time Spartak took the trophy was June 2003, when Egor Titov scored a winner against Rostov. It took 15 years to reach the main event again.

Sensational Enisey beat Spartak in the Cup last season, and this time the Siberian team started confident, but as time went on, the RPL side took the advantage and created many opportunities to score. Finally Quincy Promes broke the deadlock getting a cutting pass from Christopher Martins Pereira and scoring on a breakaway.

Shamar Nicholson was the most unlucky guy this evening, as he missed three big chances, and was substituted after 70 minutes. Zelimkhan Bakaev also missed his chance before the break, but in the first minutes after took the situation in his hands and hit the ball from the box line into the net. The hope shone on for the visitors, when VAR reviewed Valery Kichin’s shot from the corner kick, if the ball completely crossed the goal line, but it did not. Former Enisey Aleksandr Sobolev said the final word and scored the third goal.

Spartak Moscow will face Dynamo Moscow in the Final, to be held at the Luzhniki on 29 May.
