Relegation play-off, 2nd leg
FC Khimki 3-0 SKA Khabarovsk
Saturday 28 May, Arena Khimki

Goals: Khimki - Glushakov (pen 8), Mirzov (45+2), Dolgov (50)

Aggregate score: 3-1, Khimki win

Three days later since the first leg in Khabarovsk Khimki started the second clash against SKA with Reziuan Mirzov and Aleksandr Rudenko coming back in the starting 11, both players missed the trip to the Far East city. Rudenko’s activity brought a penalty in the first minutes, and Denis Glushakov’s goal from the spot made the teams tied in the aggregate.

The weather conditions became worse, as the rain shower started, but it did not prevent Khimki to continue attacking, and beautiful combination from Butta Magomedov and Mirzov was finished with a goal by the latter in the added time before the break. It took five minutes after the beginning of the second half for the Red-Blacks to score the third one, Aleksandr Dolgov, coming from the bench two minutes earlier, scored from the rebound after the corner kick.

Away goal rule gave Khabarovsk right to promote scoring just two goals. They used one chance, when Kamran Aliev found the rebound in the box, but the goal was disallowed due to offside. Khimki could finish with bigger score, as they got another penalty, and Mirzov’s shot was saved by Vladimir Sugrobov.

Khimki kept their place in the RPL, next season will be their third in a row as topflight competitor.
