Gamid Agalarov gets Best Young Player of the Season award

21-year-old Ufa striker Gamid Agalarov is announced as RPL Best Young Player of 2021/22 season.

The winner was decided in the voting with participation of RPL teams’ captains and head coaches, Russian sports media editors-in-chief, main broadcaster MATCH PREMIER commentators and Nikolay Pisarev, member of Russia national team coaching staff.

Agalarov earned 131 points in total, while Dynamo midfielder Arsen Zakharyan finished second just five points behind. Third place was taken by Eduard Spertsyan from Krasnodar with 46 points.

Agalarov played 29 matches in the past RPL season scoring 19 goals and winning goalscorers race. Gamid scored another one in the relegation play-off games between Ufa and Orenburg. The forward also took Best Player of the Month award following October.

In two previous seasons the Best Young Player of the Season award went to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who played for Rubin Kazan.
