Claudinho is RPL Best Player of the Season

Zenit Brazilian attacking midfielder Claudinho became RPL Best Player of the Season.

The winner was decided in the voting with participation of RPL teams’ captains and head coaches, Russian sports media editors-in-chief, main broadcaster MATCH PREMIER commentators and Nikolay Pisarev, member of Russia national team coaching staff.

Claudinho won with 86 points in total, while the second place was occupied by RPL Top Scorer and Best Young Player of the Season Gamid Agalarov with 68 points. Another Zenit player to make top 3 was Wilmar Barrios with 40 points.

Claudinho joined Zenit from Red Bull Bragantino in August 2021. 25-year-old made 23 RPL appearances scoring eight goals and making four assists to win the title with St. Petersburg. During the season the Brazilian won two individual awards as RPL Player of the Month and Best Goal of the Month following November and December.

It’s the third season in a row, when Zenit player became Best Player of the Season. Previously Artem Dzyuba and Sardar Azmoun were the winners respectively.
