Man of the Match: Victor Moses (Spartak)
After suffering tough loss in Russian Super Cup Spartak made their RPL start visiting Akhmat in Grozny. Comparing with starting 11 against Zenit Guillermo Abascal made two changes, as Anton Zinkovsky and Shamar Nicholson replaced Mikhail Ignatov and Aleksandr Sobolev both. Akhmat biggest signing Gamid Agalarov left on the bench.
Action started in the end of the first half, when Maciej Rybus got two yellow cards in several seconds, as he fouled Darko Todorovic and pulled ball away. Polish defender is well-known for Grozny fans, he played for Terek four and half years. Having one-man advantage Akhmat used it in the added time, Artem Timofeev smashed a header from corner kick and paid respect for his native club not celebrating a goal.
Sobolev made the roster for the second half, and Andrey Talalaev answered later putting Agalarov on the field. Last season RPL top scorer caught one moment to score his inaugural goal for Akhmat, but the ball went wide. Another substitution gave the result for Spartak, as Victor Moses came on 78th minute and six minutes scored the screamer outside the box. This goal gave 10-man Spartak their first RPL point in Guille Abascal era.
