RPL Matchday 5
Fakel Voronezh 0-0 Ural Ekaterinburg
Friday 12 August, Central Stadium of Trade Unions, Voronezh

Man of the Match: Sergey Bozhin (Fakel)

Fifth matchday of the season got started in Voronezh, where RPL newcomers hosted the only team, who lost all four previous matches. Ural was led by club legend Evgeny Averyanov, interim head coach after Igor Shalimov left the club. Averyanov is well-known to Fakel manager Oleg Vasilenko, as coaches worked together in Ural staff during 2013/14 season.

About 18 thousand spectators at Central Stadium, just one thousand less than at home opener against Dynamo, saw 34 shots in total, and the most dangerous attempts were made in the second half. While Roman Akbashev missed the chance to get his third goal of the season, Eric Bicfalvi hit the bar with header, and lately Maksim Maksimov shot was saved by Ilya Pomazun from the top corner. Both he and Ilya Svinov completed their first clean sheets this season.

Fakel earned third point, while Ural finally got their first one, but stayed bottom in the standings.

Next RPL fixtures: Friday 19 August – Krylia Sovetov vs Fakel; Saturday 20 August – Ural vs Pari NN
