FC Orenburg 3-1 FC Khimki
Saturday 3 September, Gazovik Stadium, Orenburg

Goals: Orenburg – Sychevoy (37), Marin (39, 72); Khimki – Dolgov (24)
Man of the Match: Jimmy Marin (Orenburg)

Khimki came to Orenburg with another new coach, as Spartak Gogniev replaced Nikolay Pisarev, who was defeated in all four official games with the Red-Blacks. Gogniev knows well his first RPL opponents, his Alania battled Orenburg in the FNL promotion race for last two seasons. The visitors started good, Aleksandr Dolgov, who scored previous three goals after coming from the bench, opened the score as a starter getting the rebound from Ilya Kukharchuk’s shot.

Then troubles began for the guests, Vladimir Sychevoy ran with ball from the midfield and beat Ilya Lantratov scoring third goal in the last three games and fifth in the RPL. Two minutes later Ilya Lantratov was unlucky to catch the high ball, and Jimmy Marin brought the lead to Orenburg celebrating his first goal in Russian career. Costa Rica midfielder was in the right place again, when in the second half he tipped the ball from Lucas Vera pass. Orenburg won the third home match in a row, while Gogniev could not prevent fifth straight loss for his new side.

Orenburg move to tenth on nine points, while Khimki are twelfth with seven points.

Next RPL fixtures: Saturday 10 September – Khimki vs Krylia Sovetov; Sunday 11 September – Zenit vs Orenburg
