Winline RPL Winter Cup
Matchday 3
Spartak Moscow 2-0 FC Sochi
Friday 10 February, Bani Yas Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Goals: Spartak – Ignatov (28), Balde (40)

Winter Cup moved to Bani Yas Stadium for one match, where tournament leaders Spartak and Sochi battled for the first place. Keita Balde and Mikhail Ignatov were the keys for the Red-Whites to win this game. Firstly, Ignatov ran from the center of the field getting the ball from Balde and beat Denis Adamov, and coach’s challenge did not help Sochi, as there was no offside. Secondly, Ignatov found Balde near the far post, and Keita turned this pass into second goal. Sochi sent the ball to the net after Sergey Terekhov’s header, but Guillermo Abascal used his challenge, and as referee saw foul on Aleksandr Maksimenko, goal was called off.

Spartak kept two-goal advantage through the whole second half and became winners of the tournament. Sochi stay second, but the winner from Rostov vs Krasnodar match will move them down.

Standings: 1. Spartak (8 points); 2. Sochi (3); 3. Krasnodar (3); 4. Rostov (1)
