In November Lokomotiv and Spartak played in the final RPL matchday of 2022, they met again at RZD Arena after three-month break. Mikhail Galaktionov started the job in Lokomotiv right after autumn derby, while five players made debuts this day. Igor Smolnikov marked comeback to Loko system, Ilya Lantratov (former player to youth Railwaymen teams), Sergey Pinyaev, Maksim Glushenkov (the only new to come from the bench) and Artem Dzyuba made full debuts.

Spartak used well-known key to score, as Danil Prutsev, scorer in November derby, found the net again with shot outside the penalty box. The hosts were close to end tied, when Stanislav Magkeev scored the header after corner kick, but his first professional goal is delayed, as Francois Kamano made action being offside, and VAR called it off.

Second leg will be played at Otkrytie Bank Arena on Monday 27 February. The winner on aggregate will move to RPL Path semi-finals, while eliminated team will join Regions Path quarter-finals.
