Guillermo Abascal took first win as Spartak head coach in Krasnodar in July, and he entered the second meeting with struggles, especially the suspensions of Christopher Martins Pereira and Ruslan Litvinov. Krasnodar played without suspended Caio, and they captured the lead through heat-formed Jhon Cordoba, he scored sixth goal after winter break. Batxi solo run led Krasnodar to 2-0 score with 30 minutes left in the second half.

By the way, it was second time this spring, when the Green-Black Bulls lost two-goal advantage in Moscow. Aleksandr Sobolev scored the penalty (tenth shot in the matchday, new RPL record), and five minutes later he made brace from the rebound in the penalty area. Krasnodar came back to leading role with Eduard Spertsyan parachute, but Spartak rose again. Anton Zinkovsky sent long shot to the net after redirection from Cristian Ramirez, and Quincy Promes, returned from injury, passed the defense in the penalty area to score the winner. This goal also tied all-time RPL record for foreign scorers, as Promes has the same 85 goals, as Vagner Love and Sardar Azmoun.

Spartak stay third on 48 points, while Krasnodar are seventh with 38 points.
