Zenit chasers' meeting in Moscow could bring St. Petersburg closer to title if Spartak defeated Rostov. Kirill Schetinin could not continue the game through head injury getting in contact from mate Viktor Melekhin. Aleksandr Selyava with four minutes after entering the pitch scored outside the penalty area his first RPL goal. The Red-Whites are RPL leaders in points after comebacks, and they proved it again, Aleksandr Sobolev hit the header after corner kick in the final minutes of added time. Furious Valery Karpin was given yellow card during the match, and he earned a red card too after arguing with referee Kirill Levnikov following the final whistle.
Teams remained on the same positions, as Rostov are second with 50 points, and Spartak go third on 49 points. If Rostov drop points against Fakel, and Spartak lose to Zenit next week, title race will be won by St. Petersburg team.
