Zenit become nine-time RPL champions

Zenit St. Petersburg became 2022/23 RPL winners after beating Spartak Moscow 3-2 in Matchday 26 fixture.

With four matches left in the season Sergey Semak team go first with 64 points, while nearest contender CSKA Moscow trailed 13 points. The Blue-White-Sky Blue earned 20 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats in 26 matches played, scored 68 goals, and conceded 15.

Zenit have been winning RPL title for five seasons, all this time team is coached by Sergey Semak. It’s ninth time Zenit became RPL champions, only Spartak have more Russian titles (10). Combining all seasons in USSR and Russian top division Zenit won the league ten times, they got single Soviet Union champions title in 1984.
