Rivalry teams came to main Moscow derby in different shapes, as CSKA were best team of spring with 25 points in ten matches, while Spartak could not win for three straight games. First half was marked with cancelled goals for each side; Mikhail Ignatov was offside before scoring, the same thing happened with Anton Zabolotny. First good goal came from CSKA, when Jesus Medina finished the assist from Fedor Chalov, but Spartak equalized in the similar way; Anton Zinkovsky crossed to the penalty area, where Quincy Promes scored the header.
Second half was heated with Aleksandr Sobolev and Willyan Rocha trash talk, both were sent off directly, as they showed obscene gesture. In ten-on-ten game Spartak got their chance, when Viktor Moses was tripped by Victor Mendez in the penalty box. Promes could not beat Igor Akinfeev from the spot but was lucky on the rebound. This goal made Quincy new Spartak top scorer in Russian top division with 88 goals, while the team celebrated first league win over CSKA since April 2021.
Spartak go to third with 53 points, while CSKA still second on 54 points.
