Day 2 of Russian Cup Week 6: Lokomotiv win Group B, Krasnodar capture three points at Spartak

On 1 November the final matchweek of RPL Path Group Stage continued in Russian Cup with three matches.

Group A
FC Sochi 2-0 Fakel Voronezh
Goals:
Sochi – Burmistrov (29), Margasov (42)

Preliminary standings: 1. Orenburg (11 points); 2. CSKA (8); 3. Sochi (8); 4. Fakel (6)

Sochi finished third and left behind CSKA as lost twice in head-to-head meetings, so they will play in Regions Path playoffs. Fakel eliminated from the Cup after Group Stage in second straight season.

Group B
Lokomotiv Moscow 3-0 Rubin Kazan
Goals:
Lokomotiv – Tiknizyan (9), Miranchuk (26), Sarveli (37)

Preliminary standings: 1. Lokomotiv (13); 2. Ural (8); 3. Rostov (8); 4. Rubin (4)

Lokomotiv kept the first place in the group to qualify to the RPL Path playoffs as group winners. Rubin came to the final matchweek without any chances to move from bottom, and they left tournament after Group Stage.

Group D
Spartak Moscow 2-3 FC Krasnodar
Goals:
Spartak – Sobolev (pen 8), Umyarov (45+1); Krasnodar – Koksharov (3, 61), Denisov (OG 74)

Preliminary standings: 1. Spartak (12 points); 2. Krasnodar (11); 3. Dynamo (8); 4. Pari NN (2)

The Red-Whites suffered second straight defeat in the Cup after they became group winners beating Pari NN in Matchweek 4. Krasnodar will keep second place and spot in RPL Path playoffs, only if Dynamo can’t win against Pari NN in regular time. If teams are tied on points, Dynamo will get advantage due to head-to-head win in regular time.
